An aide to Governor Umar Abdulahi Ganduje who has been criticizing President Muhammadu Buhari Salihu Tanko-Yakassai has been arrested by !operatives of the Directorate of State Security in Kano State.
The aide, who was declared missing by friends in the last 24 hours was confirmed to be in the custody of the DSS in the early hours of Saturday.
A friend had tweeted “Family,friends & colleagues have been unable to locate @dawisu for at least 14hrs now,both lines of his have been unavailable since he left his home at about 4pm yestday.If you have any information regarding his whereabouts please let us know! This is URGENT!Thank you C: EngrAbba”
But in a disclosure Saturday morning, the official handler of the State Twitter handle said it has been confirmed that Tanko-Yakassai is in the custody of the security outfit.
Abubakar Sadeeq the official wrote on the Twitter handle “Alhamdulillahi we just confirmed @dawisu is at DSS office.”
The aide had taken to his social media page in the wake of the kidnapping of the students of Zamfara school.
He had accused the All Progressive Congress of total failure in the handling of yen Affairs of the country.
“Clearly, we as APC government, at all levels, have failed Nigerians in the number 1 duty we were elected to do which is to secure lives & properties. Not a single day goes by without some sort of insecurity in this land. This is a shame! Deal with terrorists decisively or resign.” He wrote
