….Canvass partnership with NGOs to reach the poor
Besides the problem of insecurity and poor economy,two killer diseases have been found to account for highest number of killer diseases in the country.
Adenike Okunrinmeta, initiator and executive Director of Youth Care Project told Newdawnngr.com in an exclusive interview that from her experience with dispensing care to various communities in Nigeria, lack of awareness and urgent treatment accounts for high mortality rate in various communities in the country.

The graduate of medical law said from her experience in the past 20 years, only non-government organisations has the capacity to help government in the face of dearth of personnel in rural communities.
She told the Newdawnngr.com team while on a two weeks outreach tagged, Clinic At Your Doorstep initiative to Matogbun, Akute,Lambe and environs that the death of primary health care initiative by late Professor Olikoye Ransome Kuti has adversely affected community health deliverance by successive governments due to focus on secondary health care.

As for her,since community health care givers have closer rapport with rural people,caring for such ailments like high blood pressure,high sugar level which accounts for higher percentage of killer diseases,they should be encouraged by government to bridge the gap.
She said most of the ailments being attended to in general hospitals are better prevented by assess to immediate guidance and care which only community care givers like her Clinic at Your Doorstep could give.
The executive director said the very high prevalence of such killer diseases is attributable to poverty and ignorance coupled with lack of access to health care in rural communities.
According to her,the high rate of poverty in the communities is impacting negatively on socio development programmes of government since the direct beneficiaries have no access to health care.
“We want government and private stakeholders like Pharmaceutical companies to key into partnership with NGOs which are better placed to reach the local populace which lack asses to hospitals,primary health centres in order to curb the high level of underdevelopment”.she declared
