Detectives from the Assistant Inspector General of Police,Zone 2 ,of the Nigeria Police Force are already on the trail of a syndicate which specialize in hacking into websites of notable on line publishers with a view to using contacts details to dupe unsuspecting members of the public.
Newdawnngr sources at the headquarters revealed that the command has based on petitions to it commenced investigation towards routing out the syndicate.
It will be recalled that the syndicate led by one Dr Charles, who described himself as the Group Administrator and has been using telephone number 08063398732 last December 2020 hacked into the website of Newdawnngr.com asking some of it’s subscribers to participate in a Zoom meeting.
This prompted the organisation to inform its numerous readers to beware of clinking any link sent by the alleged scammer.
He has also done same to some other media organisations and its publishers with a view to defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.
Our sources revealed that the police authorities are working hard to unveil the behind the syndicate and their real identities.
