The leader of the emancipation faction of the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigerian (PMAN) & Kogi State born entertainment entrepreneur, Hon.Baba Ojonugwa J.F.O, has congratulated the national President of PMAN, Pretty Okafor, on his affirmation as the authentic President of the musicians union in a court case delivered on 12 November, 2020 at Ibadan.
J.F.O in his letter appealed to all factional/group leaders to call their members to order; stop and put behind all differences & march forward with ONE VOICE for the good of the Union & generations yet unborn.
He has also accepted the invitation from Pretty to join hands with the National Working Committee (NWC) & members of his own faction ”the emancipation team” spread accross the 774 local government authorities (LGAs) and six area councils of the Federal republic of Nigeria for the overall benefit, interest & advancement of PMAN and the Music Industry in Nigeria.
Baba Ojonugwa concurred with Pretty Okafor that the music industry has suffered so much due to the long crisis & ”we have not been able to harness any benefit from the policies and budgets of government, including but not limited to the ongoing Federal Government survival funds to various sectors of the economy, owing to the disagreements in PMAN”, thus we must put an end all issues and move as one PMAN.
The letter was copied to the Registrar of Trade Union; The DG NCAC & all 36 states (PMAN chapter Governors).
