Days after the massacre of the unarmed youths suspected to be #EndSARS protesters, former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Deputy Chairman, South West, Chief Bode George, has called for the scrapping of the controversial Lekki Toll Gate and a monument in memory of the dead and wounded erected there.
George made this call in a world press conference in which he said he spoke as an elder-statesman, a Lagosian, a Nigerian and most importantly as the Atona Oodua.
At the conference, which was well attended by journalists and his PDP members, he also called on the government of Lagos State to severe its relationships with Lekki Concession Company and Alpha Beta.
He was of the opinion that the humongous revenue the two companies make out of the revenue of the state is enough to give the indigenes of the state free education and better healthcare.
Though, he was completely against the looting that followed the #EndSARS protest but was of the opinion that the protest was the consequence of unemployment in the land.
