NUPENG accuses FG of misinformation on situation in oil industry

The National Union of Petroleum and Energy Gas Workers(NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) have accused the Minister of State for Petroleum, Timoire Sylva of misinformation and misrepresentation of facts on the state of the nations refineries.
In a press statement issued yesterday and signed by NUPENG National President, Comrade Williams Akporeha and his PENGASSAN counterpart, Comrade Ndukaku Ohaeri, the two bodies said all its suggestions to government on how to make the refineries work in the past five years have come to nothing.
It stated that its collaboration and support have been taken for granted to the extent that the Minister of State of Petroleum Resources and Group Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation(NNPC) have been accusing the two bodies of sabotage and openly malign its integrity.
The association described the minister’s statement to the effect that the Refineries have not been working for three years while workers are receiving salaries and promotion as most uncharitable and appalling.
As a result it described the ministers comment as shying away from governments failure adding “,government is to be blamed for the neglect,inefficiency incompetence, lack if transparency and policy somersault in the running of the refineries.
