….Provides 100-bed space at Isolation centre- Commissioner
Ekiti State Government has disclosed that it has discharged five Covid-19 patients from the state’s Infection Disease Control Centre today.
According to Information officer in the health ministry,Abiodun Olofe,the commissioner for Health and Human Services ,Dr. Mojisola Yaya- Kolade made the disclosure at the press briefing by members of Ekiti State Covid 19 Task Force held at Conference Hall, governor’s office, Ado- Ekiti.

Dr Yaya-Kolade hinted that the state now has 100 bed space at the Infection Disease Control Centre that could cater for any index case of the pandemic.
The commissioner confirmed that there were 3 new index cases during last weekend in the state noting that two of the cases were those from the contacts of previous index cases and the third was a man who sneaked into the state from Kano state.
“I’m happy to inform you that we have just discharged 5 patients of Covid 19 after being tested negative to the virus two times. We now have five active cases and all of them are stable”. She said.
In his Contributions , the chairman of the Task force and Director General of Office of Transformation and Strategy Prof. Mobolaji Aluko noted that there were increasing reported cases of people wanting to enter the state at the border towns stressing that the state was doing its best to ensure that no unwanted visitors would be allowed into the state.
Prof.Aluko commended Ekiti state sons and daughters who have donated in cash and Kind into the state Covid 19 purse noting that donations are coming in everyday. He assured that all received would be made known to Ekiti people very soon.
While contributing, the commissioner for Environment Hon. Gbenga Agbeyo noted that fumigation would be constantly carried out and continue till the pandemic is completely defeated in the state.
