The 60th anniversary of the reign of Oba Sikiru Adetona has been described as a very remarkable period in Ijebu history and attainment.
This remark was made by Otunba Adesanya Yusuff,the Guwa Egbe Bobagunte and Otunba Bobaselu of Ijebuland.
In a congratulatory message to the Awujale on the 60th year anniversary of his ascension,Otunba Yusuff,who is the head of the youth group born when the monarch ascended the throne said the last 60 Yeats HSS been a remarkable years of “personal challenges,perseverance and great belief in Kabiyesis innate strength and ability”.
The age group leader said that during this period the monarch who is easily the longest reigning in the country has demonstrated strong leadership to the Ijebu nation and the entire Nigerian peiple.
” He has epitomised the saying that footprints on the sands of time are not made by sitting down.
Otunba Yusuff said that Egbe Babagunte(Okunrin) Akile Ijebu being children born during Oba Adetonas ascension to the throne,”are very proud to witness this milestone and pray that may his reign continue to long and happy”.
