Ogunbute Confident Lobi Stars will Return to winning ways

Lobi Stars head coach Gbenga Ogunbute is confident that his team would return to winning ways when they face neighbors, Nasarawa United in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) Matchday 17 fixture.
Lobi Stars are currently joint top of the table with Rivers United and Plateau United after dropping points for the first time at home last weekend when it played 0-0 with Dakkada but Ogunbute while speaking to www.npfl.ng insisted the team has moved on from last weekend’s result and are fully focused on getting all three points on Sunday when it plays Nasarawa United.
“I think our result last weekend was quite an unfortunate one and we have moved on from it. Throughout the week we analyzed and worked on the things that went wrong against Dakkada. The boys have also shown a lot of positivity throughout the week and I am confident that this time we will get all three points.” Ogunbute declared.
Lobi Stars will be facing neighbors Nasarawa United who on their part are desperate for a positive result as they are entangled in a relegation battle and Ogunbute is not ignorant of the fact that it’s going to be a tough match.
“It’s going to be a tough match. As we all know they are in a relegation battle and so they are going to come here with plenty belief that they can get all three points. Let us not forget that the last time they played away they got a win against Dakkarda so it is not going to be easy.”
Lobi Stars, Rivers United and Plateau United are involved in a three way battle for the top and Gbenga Ogunbute is relishing the challenge and also believes that it is a positive advert for the league.
“I think it’s a great thing to have teams fighting for the top as against having one or two teams fighting for the league title. In fact, I am proud of the evolution of the league this season. We have a lot of away winings, upsets and surprise packages. It is good advert for the NPFL.”
“As regards the battle with Rivers United and Plateau United, we are happy to be involved in it and we will keep fighting.”
Lobi Stars could go top of the table if they beat Nasarawa United and results in other centres go against their other rivals in contention for the title.
