Mr. Gideon Nwaomu has reacted angrily to Oge Kimono’s allegation that he is a fraudster who is planning to launch a foundation in her father’s name without her knowledge or that of her siblings.
Nwaomu said that from the outset, Oge was involved but she openly demanded huge sums of money.
Nwaomu said that he had to forge ahead with the foundation by paying for its registration and organising a memorial concert in Asaba after discussing with Senami, the daughter Kimono got from his only legitimate marriage to Sybil.
According to him eminent Nigerians like Hon. Ned Nwoko, Hon. Victor Ochei, Emma Ogosi, Laolu Akins among others were contacted as trustees for the foundation.
” At the beginning Oge agreed and said she will consult with her sibling like Kimono’s daughter, Senami, from his only wedlock to Sybil. Only for Oge to turn back and demanded huge amounts of money for the foundation and another for the memorial concert. When Senami was reached in her base in America, she said Oge did not discuss anything with her. She was quarreling with for not doing anything to let her come home for the burial of her father. We later learnt that Oge was the one urging Kimono’s band to charge money before they can play in a show meant for the owner of the band.”
According to Nwaomu, a long time friend of Kimono who is behind the show/foundation,
“So I do not know how I have become a fraudster by trying to imortalise my brother/friend.”
He also said that he used his money to pay for the registration of the foundation and that it was Oge that even initially advised that the anniversary concert be moved from Monday to Saturday.
