1060

Abuja Abuja High Court has ordered the Clerk of National Assembly NASS to conduct the election of presiding officers of the assembly with open ballot voting system.

Based on the Senate Rule book, the election of principal officers is supposed to be conducted in secret voting system.

However, the Abuja court presided over by Justice O.A Musa granted an interim injunction restraining the clerk of the assembly  and the Sergeant At Arms to the senate and others from relying or enforcing the Senate standing orders 2015 (as amended) in the conduct of election of Presiding officers of the senate of the 9th assembly, pending the determination of this suit.
