Federal High Court Sitting in Abuja has struck out suit filed to declare seats of 54 lawmakers of National Assembly vacant who defected to other Political Parties that brought them to Office.

Justice Abang Okon ruled that LEDAP has no locus standi to institute the suit adding that the plaintiff failure to join political parties weaken the argument.

The judge argued that one has right to initiate a suit only if he is directly affected by the action of another or that he/she suffered loss or damage.

LEDAP had asked the court to order the lawmakers to vacate their seats in the National Assembly and return all salaries and allowances earned since their defection.
