Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has approved the conduct of year 2016 and 2017 Promotion exercise for Public primary school teachers in the state.
Chairman, Ogun State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) Alhaji Abdul-Jeleel Olatunde Okewole, who made this known revealed that 3,055 and 2,399 teachers are eligible for the year 2016 and 2017 respectively.
He explained that the accreditation of eligible teachers would hold between Monday 18 and Friday, March 29 across Ijebu, Remo, Egba and Yewa zones by 8.000am daily.
According to the SUBEB Chairman, there would be promotion written Examination on Saturday, April 6, for teachers on Grade level 12 and above. Eligible teachers from Egba zone and Imeko-Afon would write the Examination at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, while those from Ijebu and Remo zone would use Adeola Odutola College, Ijebu – Ode. Those from Yewa zone including Ifo, would have theirs at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
Similarly, the Executive Chairman, stated that eligible teachers on Grade level 06 to 10, would sit for Computer Based Test (CBT) on Saturday, April 13 at designated centres, at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Ojere, Abeokuta for those in Egba zone including Imeko-Afon, while Koncept Komputer, Imowo via Ijebu Ode is the venue for eligible teachers from Ijebu –Ode and Remo zone. Those from Yewa zone, including Ifo would have the Examination at the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro.
He charged the affected teachers to bring along to the accreditation and oral interview centres, the original and photocopies of letter of first appointment and confirmation, letters of promotions, adjustment/Inter-Cadre transfer letters, Birth Certificate, First School leaving Certificate, Marriage Certificate/ Change of name, as well as two (2) recent passports.
Alhaji Okewole, who stated that the Oral interview for 2016 and 2017 would hold between Monday, April 15 and Thursday, May 2, stressed that failure to present original certificate would lead to disqualification from the promotion exercise, also that only the statements of result/ notification that were less than five (5) years from the date of qualification would be considered.
