President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation to takeover operatorship of Oil Mining Lease (OML).
The directive will be effective as from April 30 and NNPC is expected to confirm assumption of operatorship by May 2.
This was contained in a letter forwarded to NNPC Group Managing Director (GMD) by the Presidency.
According to the letter, NNPC/NPDC to takeover operatorship from Shell Petroleum Development Company of entire OML 11not letter than April 30, 2019 and ensure smooth re-entry given the delicate situation of Ogoniland.
