Just like one of the start-ups we have in the entertainment world in Nigeria, Babalola Omotosho popularly known as MC Bazz, a multiple talented artiste and a graduate from one of the Federal Universities in the South-Western state has not only calved a niche for himself but also making ends meet with his new career, in a brief interview with our reporter, Rhoda Olorunfemi, the young MC revealed what led him into his new profession as compared to his original intention as a Scientist. Excerpt below:

My name is Babalola Omotosho Michael a.k.a MC Bazz, I hail from Osun

State, Nigeria. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree from Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Ogun State. I am a bachelor. I am a professional Master Compere, an On Air Personality, a Comedian, and a voice Over artiste.

Why MC as a career instead of your discipline?

For me, being an MC is an in-born thing regardless of my field of study; I discovered my talent since my primary school days. I feel fulfilled handling the microphone! I will say being an MC is what I was created to do, and I do it well!

  1. How can you describe your profession now as an MC compared to what it was then?

Well, let’s thank God for the journey so far! I will say my career has improved compared to when I started in different respect;  for example I have been able to improve on my skills over the years, and I have more audience base which gives an increased clients over the years.

  1. How did you get your clients then compare to now?

Then, most of my clients were my friends, church members, neighbors and

colleagues who knew me personally back then but it has gotten better now because

I get clients now through referrals, Social media, skits and Radio. It has obviously been

better now, all glory to God alone.

  1. Any challenges so far and how did you overcome it?

There are couple of challenges I’ve met so far..My major challenge so far was how to

get people believe in my brand and trust me with their events. It was hard to reach out

to people and get new clients. I remember I could get one event in six months then! I was

able to overcome the challenge by resilience and constantly doing my thing. I also

had to work on my awareness and publicity to get more people know what I do most especially through the social media and other channels.

  1. What has been your best experience since starting your career?

My best experience first is the fact that I have been able to use my gift for God the giver of talent. For me, the purpose of living is to serve God! Secondly the day I anchored a wedding and the former Governor of Osun State Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola was a guest! That was a big day, he told me personally I’m going places and even rubbed my palm.

  1. Where and what do you intend to be and achieve in the nearest future?

Hmmm…Nearest future! The dream is to get to the apex of my career, I look forward to starting my shows very soon (That’s d next project) and possibly sell out the largest hall in the country and outside possibly O2 arena lol and also get to host the biggest award, events and weddings. I sincerely look forward to hosting the Grammy someday!

  1. Any advice for the youths out there?

My advice for the youths out there is to take their Education and talent serious! Youths of nowadays are infected with the ‘get rich quick’ virus. We should remember great things take time. We should always be focused and always find ways of improving on whatever we do especially our talent and please don’t forget you need a good education too. More importantly please don’t forget God in all your endeavours because ‘by strength shall no man prevail” Thank you.  @ officialmcbazz( 0866815532)
