NBA vows not to recognise acting CJN

The Nigeria Bar Association has resolved not to recognise the new Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Tanko
Mohammed and will start a two day warning boycott of courts tomorrow.

The warning boycott of courts it said was to demand for the reinstatement of Onoghen.
Rising from it National Executive Council meeting the body of lawyers said it would “never” recognise the acting CJN but Justice Walter Onoghen, as the substantive CJN.

A communiqué issued after the meeting said
“NBA Condemns the unconstitutional suspension of our CJN.
“NBA recognized Walter Onnoghen as the CJN.
“NBA to commence a two day warning strike with from effect tomorrow ie 29th and 30th January, 2019.
“A three man committee has been set up to interface with our learned colleagues in Government to prevail on the President Buhari to reinstate the CJN.
“NBA will not and never recognise Tanko Mohammed as acting CJN.
“NEC ratified all actions taken by the President of the Bar as it relates to the suspension of the CJN”
