Parliamentary workers begin strike Monday

Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) will on next week embark on a four day warning strike, thereby putting 2019 budget presentation in coma.

President Muhmmadu Buhari had scheduled next week Wednesday for the presentation of the 2019 budget proposal for the Joint Session of the National Assembly.

But threat by the National Assembly workers in a letter dated December 14, may put the budget presentation in jeopardy as the leadership of PASAN has instructed the Union members to stay off tgier respective duties.

According to the resolution of PASAN, be kindly informed that the entire members of PASAN shall stay off their respective duties from 17th December till 20th December.

The notice was singed by the PASAN chairman, Comrade Musa Muhammad and Secretary Comrade Sulaiman Haruna.

The strike may have been designed by the parliamentary workers to embarrass both the sentimental president and the speaker of the house of representatives.

The Association has already forwarded a letter to the National Assembly Service Commission to that effect.
