Delta 2019: Crisis rocks Nwaoboshi’s candidature

889

Just 17 days to the start of campaigns by political parties for 2019 general elections, allegations that Senator Peter Nwaoboshi’s name is missing in the list submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is rife.

Nwaoboshi, a one time chairman of PDP in Delta State who at present represents Delta North Senatorial District (Anioma) at the senate, defeated Hon. Ned Nwoko, to win the party’s ticket at a primary election held in Asaba, the state capital, to re-contested election into the senate to represent the good people of Anioma.

However, weeks after it was assumed that Nwaoboshi, who is variously referred to as Oracle or Miracle, has been endorsed by the party’s leadership in Abuja, mouth to mouth news in the streets of Asaba, Ogwashi Uku, Ibusa and other major towns in Anioma has it that his name may have been omitted out.

Though, no one seem to identify the source of the worrisome news, his campaign chairman, Hon Pascal Adigiwe’s reaction to the news through a press release published November 1 2018 on his (Adigiwe’s) Facebook page betrays how panicky and seriously the campaign organisation is taking the news.

Below, we publish unedited the content of the release.

The attention of our campaign and the exalted office of the Chairman, your humble servant Pascal has been drawn to news making the rounds concerning our serving and working Senator Peter Nwoboshi’s Ticket submission in INEC.
