Councillors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ogun State have declared support for the position of the National Working Committee (NWC), on the candidacy of Dapo Abiodun, as the governorship candidate of the party in the state.

The Councillors, under the aegis of Forum of Councillors, converged on the campaign office of Abiodun, in Iperu-Remo, Ogun State, to make their position known.

Speaking on behalf of the councillors, drawn from the 20 local governments and 37 local council development areas of the state, Adewale Nurudeen Aka, said the solidarity march was to support and abide by the NWC’s decision on the governorship matter in Ogun State.

He said as loyal party members, they would always respect the decision taken by the party on any issue, adding that the party should be above everybody, irrespective of status or position.

Echoing Aka’s position, a councillor, Taiwo Solarin, commended Governor Ibikunle Amosun, for his achievements in the saddle and urged him to support the party’s governorship candidate towards a victorious election in 2019.
