Senators of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Tuesday failed to carry out their impeachment threat against the Senate President, Bukola Saraki following his defection to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan had said during the National Convention of the party that Saraki would be removed when the Senate resumes to the session.
However, at the resumption of the plenary session on Tuesday, the Senate Leader refused to move motion for the impeachment of the Senate President over his defection to the PDP.
According to him, ‘ I want Nigerians to know that the number of senators of APC in the senate remains the largest. I want to call the attention of everyone here to the fact that democracy, as defined by people, remains government of the majority, where minority will always have their say.
