Former Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko has again dumped the Labour Party (LP) barely three months after rejoining the party.
Mimiko joined LP from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and won the governorship election to rule the south western state.
In 2014, the medical doctor-turned politician again dumped the LP for a return to his erstwhile PDP.
After his tenure as the Ondo State Governor, Mimiko returned to the LP June 2018 to seek the party’s nod for a presidential ticket.
According to sources, leadership tussle in the LP is not favourable to the politician who began contemplating another political trip.
Today, sources close to Mimiko have confirmed his movement to another party, Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) where he seeks to contest for the presidency.
Mimiko has since began consultations within his new fold on the 2019 election as it was gathered that the former governor had
met with leaders of the ZLP including Chief Dan Iwuanyanwu, the new Chairman of the party and party secretary, Mr.
Kayode Ajulo in Abuja, to perfect the new arrangement.
