Effective from Friday August 7, churches and mosques will reopen in Lagos according to the state government.

Governor of the state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who made this announcement on Saturday, August 1, 2020, ordered the re-opening of places of worship in Lagos, starting from Friday, August 7, 2020.

The Governor also increases public gatherings capacity from 20 to 50 people.

Lagos earlier said it “spends between 500,000 and N1 million daily on each of the severe COVID-19 patient,” a declaration that has since generated controversy.

Sanwo-olu has on Friday tasked Lagosians to “calm down” because according to him, the curve would start to flatten beginning from August.
