Top 12 recurrent allocations in 2020 budget proposal

The Federal Ministry of Defence is to spend N778.59bn in the year 2020 according to the year’s budget proposal presented to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari in the last quarter of 2019.

The amount stands as the highest allocation above 11 other ministries in the recurrent allocations in the 2020 budget.

Next to Defence is the Ministry of Education to which N490.20bn was allocated.

Ministry of Police Affairs has the third largest allocation in the 2020 budget with N395.83bn.

Federal Ministry of Health has N336.32bn as the fourth largest allocation while the Ministry of Interior has the fifth largest with N219.46bn.

Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has N168.33bn and Office of the National Security Adviser has an allocation of N114.91bn.

To the Ministry of Petroleum Resources is allocated N75.60bn while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has N67.56bn. office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation has allocation of N59.60bn. agric and rural development has N58.67bn. Federal Ministry of Science and Technology.
