A Christian media group, Journalists for Christ (JFC) has held its monthly fellowship in Lagos urging journalists to publish books.
The group also encouraged members to be committed to bringing words to life as they go about their assignments.
The fellowship themed “Bringing words to life” was a time to encourage members to publish books even as they report for the media.
President of JFC, Lekan Otufodunrin urged members to make the word of God impactful and also encouraged members not to hesitate to write and publish books.
Otufodunrin speaking at the event encouraged members to impact lives with their stories and also made the audience know that writing and ministry are both businesses.
“We need to make the word of God impactful, a book can be 15 pages and be impactful. As a writer, you need to write on your area of knowledge,” he said.
He added that writers must endeavour to know their audience. “Know your target audience, write if you want but know what you are writing about,” he said.

Otufodunrin who is also the Executive Director of Media Career Development Network added that, “We should not take our audience for granted, although we live in a changing time but our God is still the same. We need to admit that things are changing.”
“We have to understand the people’s way of life. Don’t publish a book you are not proud of.
“If you publish a thousand books and only sold ten, be rest assured that the ten might have impact,” he said.
To achieve the set goal, the President of JFC is committed to helping members who are passionate and willing to write and publish their books to bring the word of God to life.

A member of JFC, Dayo Emmanuel also contributed at the meeting enjoining participants not to kill their dreams. He said they can start documenting their life for future purposes.
Quoting an author, he said, “It takes a person to write a book but it takes a team to write a good book,” urging participants to collaborate to make publishing possible.
