The postponement of the 2019 general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has continued to attract divergent views by Nigerians.

The rescheduling of the election for Saturday, February 23 came as a shock few hours to the polls.

Clergy of Latter House Church, Rev. Samuel Obus, said, as far as he is concerned, INEC is not at fault because prior to the day of elections there were many negative occurrences such as burning of the Commission’s materials in some states, card readers being hijacked and inability to deliver relevant materials to some states.

“I will go back to vote even if the election is postponed till March because I’m fully ready for this year elections,” he stated.

A student of History Education of University of Ibadan, Miss Obu Peace expressed her disappointment on the postponement.

According to her, the INEC officials should have known early that the election was not feasible.

“The number of people that are ready to vote last Saturday may not be as much as the next election day because a lot of people are affected and it will be difficult for them to come out to vote”, Peace added.
