About nine people this morning lost their lives in an accident involving a Mercedes- Benz Marcopolo bus and a stationary Iveco truck at Aseese area of Ogun State end of the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway.

An eye witness told New Dawn that the accident was caused by over speeding by the driver of the bus.

“We have been in this traffic for long. We left Abeokuta early enough to arrive Lagos in good time and return but the accident would definitely cause more delay and waste of man hour,” a commuter, who simply identified herself as Olufunmi said.

According to a source, the number plate of the bus is quoted as SMK 867 XG.

The bus was said to have lost control and collided with the stationary truck with registration number

The source added that the dead include seven male and two female adults.

The remains of the dead were deposited at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital mortuary, Sagamu, Ogun State while the injured were also evacuated for treatment.
