African Democratic Congress, ADC, gubernatorial aspirant in Ogun state, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI) has urged leaders at all levels to show sincerity in their pursuit of good governance in order to restore the glory of Nigeria and set it on the path of sustainable growth.

In an independence message released from his media office in Abeokuta, the state capital, Isiaka lamented the underdevelopment of Nigeria 58 years after independence from colonial masters; despite the abundance of its natural and human resources.

The statement identified lack of sincere leadership as a major bane of Nigeria’s socioeconomic challenges saying leaders after leaders have run governments that have no interest of the people at heart, but pursue personal gains to the detriment of national growth.

Isiaka’s stated further, “We cannot continue lamenting our woes every year as helpless people. As the great poet, Ola Rotimi put it – To sit down and resign to fate is madness. We must rise up as a people to halt this continuous drift.

“The current democratic sytem is broken and political parties no longer offer hope, but the way out is for leaders to show sincerity and patriotism in implementation of policies. The nation must come first, the people must come first and that way, we can become a truly independent, prosperous nation”.
