Like Davido, like K1 on Osun, Lagos APC primaries

That Davido is playing or has played a pivotal role in the Osun State election is not surprising to those who know and have been following the political trends in the state where his “big daddy” uncle is already an awaiting governor except the pendulum swings to All Progressives Congress’ (APC),Mr. Gboyega Oyetola.

Many have also attributed the ‘dancing senator’s’  unexpected feat at the polls to the popularity of Davido who from the outset had threw his popularity behind his uncle; others had concluded that he (Davido) would not have done anything less, especially when it is in the public space that he learnt the art of dancing from his uncle that has been variously described as ‘Ajobiewe’

Whatever be the reason(s) for Davido’s ‘I no send’ action in sticking out his neck to deck in an ankra designed in Peoples Democratic Party’ (PDP), the fact remains that the young man, who is not too young or old to rule, is inching into partisan politics and it won’t be strange if he, one day, seek to represent his Ede people at the Senate.

That said, and probably understood, what many, except those involved, probably may not understood, is KWAM1’s alleged unprintable words against Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State, which has gone virile, and which has as expected, pitched him against his musical rival, Obesere.

It becomes more surprising when it is viewed from the prism that KWAM1, in 2014/15 laid his life on the line in support of Ambode. He, like Davido, was the official musician for APC and Ambode. He was part and parcel of the Jagaban led electioneering campaigns throughout all the nooks and crannies of Lagos State to install Ambode as Babatunde Fashola’s successor.

But suddenly, things seem to have fallen apart and the centre no longer holds.

KWAM1 has turned his back against Ambode. He has forgotten all the good things he enjoyed from the governor when the chummy relationship lasted. He has joined Ambode tranducers in their determined, determination to close the door of second term against Ambode on the altar of party leaders ‘sole.’

But the big, bold question is, what might have Ambode done to KWAM1 to deserve such public dress down. Is KWAM1, hitherto known as a front- line musician, also part of the APC Lagos State leaders who do not want Ambode ‘ Leekan si’?

Whatever be his reason(s), the fact remains that KWAM1 has bitten the finger that once provided bread on his table.
